Major African economies including Ghana has been going down for sometime now due to the world’s economic recession backed by the Russia – Ukraine war and the Covid-19 Pandemic, African heads of state and other international platforms has said.
This, has caused many problems for most African heads of state to revive their economies. Ghana is not exception as President Akufo-Addo has consistently blamed Ghana’s woes on the Russia – Ukraine war of arms and the dreaded covid-19 pandemic.
Discussing the economic situation in Ghana and other matters arising with Kwame Koranteng on Anɔpa Dawuro on Republic Fm on Friday, June 24, the Eastern Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party, Evans Osei Yeboah said, comparing the developed nations to Africa and the things that are hindering the continent to be developed has to do with its language barrier.
According to him, America has one particular language, making decision making and policy implementation very easy for the US.
He said, “There are a lot of issues that’s not making us develop. One typical example is language barrier alone.
America’s population is huge but they all speak one language, they understand each other, they feel belonging but if you come to Ghana with a population of 32 million, look at the number of tribes and the languages.
At any point in time, one party wants to satisfy its tribe once they assume office and we defray from the national course. . Its a major problem and until we accept that we are one people, it will be difficult to develop as a nation”
